A management buyout at a long-established Stony Stratford gun shop has led to the launch of WYLD Outdoors, a business that blends traditional sporting gun retail with locally sourced game products and outdoor dining experiences.
Former operations director Johnny Muston has acquired the business from its previous owners and rebranded it as WYLD Outdoors, relaunching in November. The shop will continue to offer gunsmithing services, firearms, and country wear but will now also stock venison, game, and related natural foods.
Muston plans to expand the retail offering by integrating it with his other venture, WYLD Dining—an outdoor fine dining experience that has received praise from both guests and culinary professionals. The business will host unique food events that celebrate game and sustainable hunting.
Johnny Muston said: “I am both delighted and excited to take this next step along the road to developing the WYLD group into a business that promotes all aspects of outdoor sporting life. Hunting and the preservation of the natural environment have long been my passion, and I believe that through the WYLD group we will be able to promote excellence in hunting practices together with sustainable and professional management of our natural resources.
